Holy crap, it's been a while. Much has happened in my life since I last touched this page, and to be completely honest I am surprised that Google didn't trash it long ago. Man, if I had only been more devoted to blogging back in 2009 perhaps I would be one of the kings of the new media, like that smart, award winning, military blog Ace of Spades HQ. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, I guess.
Well I'm back, and there's no time like the present. Better than ever, actually. Yeah. And at the risk of pissing all of my non-readers off, I am changing things up a bit. Yeah, the normal politics stuff will be covered, but what is politics but a reflection of the culture?? Breitbart taught me that. So you'll start seeing us branch out a bit. Expect a little bit of politics, a little pop culture, a little sport, and a little beer. As in home brewing. Why, you ask? Because I said so that's why (and I happen to be an avid homebrewer of 13 years).
Oh, and expect a few guest appearances by guest bloggers. I have non idea what they'all be covering yet but I'm sure it will be awesome (sometimes).

Corzine Goes Down In Ball of Flames!
The forces of good are afoot in New Jersey. The voters have spoken with a loud, resounding voice. "Devil be gone! Satan misses you. Get thee back to hell."
And with the victory in Virginia, I think it's fair to say that conservatism isn't dead. Not by a long shot.

Memo to the GOP: Take a page out of McDonnell's Campaign
As a current resident of Virginia, I'm already biased toward commenting on the recent VA gubernatorial campaign. That being said, I think that it would behoove the national GOP to take a close look and study the McDonnell campaign in light of Tuesday night's victory. The McDonnell folks ran the kind of campaign that resonated with Virginians, who are results-oriented voters.
The McDonnell campaign stuck to its message of jobs and economic prosperity for Virginians. While McDonnell himself is a conservative all the way, they stayed away from social themes in most (if not all) of their campaigning and avoided any distraction from the hot-button that is the economy. They also stayed away from attack ads, and persevered with a positive message of economic prosperity. In the end, Bob looked like the smart, nice, "can-do" politician, while Deeds was the bumbling, unsure, and tax-hike embracing alternative.
They also embraced new media, and my brief encounters with their staff leads me to believe it also had a fair amount of youth volunteers.
All in all, when planning campaigns for swing states like VA (see: Ohio), the national GOP should consider putting giving a call to the McDonnell campaign manager.

Keynesians Live!
640,000 jobs were created with stimulus spending of $164B as of September 30, 2009. That's $256,250 per job. That kind of cash could have supported a family of four for two years had we just gifted them the money. The jobs that were created didn't pay nearly as much as the money spent to create them. I used to think all Keynesians were dead until Geithner came rolling up.

RedState's Operation Leper
Eric Erickson over at RedState has begun what he calls "Operation Leper" to name and shame those cowardly McCain staffers who are attempting to scapegoat Sarah Palin for McCain's electoral defeat. I just don't see what these staffers stand to gain by going to the media on this. I really don't. It's classless and shortsighted. The time for debate over whether or not Sarah Palin was VP candidate material was back in the spring and summer, not now. Their actions do nothing to help further their own careers within the party, nor does it contribute to constructive discussion about the future. Something tells me that Governor Palin has a more promising political future than these campaign hacks.
McCain's staffers need to look inward
Anger brimming over the top at Ace of Spades HQ about the sliming of Sarah Palin by McCain staffers. These folks need to shut the hell up, look inward, and really examine the sloppy way they handled her rollout. This is kindergarten-like behavior. Frankly, without Palin McCain would have lost by even larger margins. Morons.
Democrats faced stiff headwind on Nov. 4th?!
Wow. You don't expect to see news headlines and comments like this in the wake of Tuesday's election results. You've got to hand it to Tennessee; they bucked the national trend and became more conservative on November 4th. I challenge anyone to find another instance where McCain's "coattails" are credited with electoral victories. More on this later.
